A Marathon resident, 46-year-old Jessica Melissa Borysiewicz, has been arrested and extradited from Nebraska to face a series of charges in Monroe County. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported her booking on September 13, following an investigation that began in January 2025.
Extensive Investigation Leads to Arrest
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Borysiewicz is accused of trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession and sales of cocaine, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and battery on a law enforcement officer, among other violations. Detectives initiated their investigation into Borysiewicz for alleged drug sales in January 2025.
Borysiewicz was initially arrested on drug-related charges in June 2025. After posting bond, she allegedly resumed her alleged drug-selling activities, prompting detectives to continue their investigation and secure new arrest warrants. The Keys Weekly reported on the case, detailing the ongoing efforts by law enforcement.
Alleged Fleeing Incident and Subsequent Arrest
In February 2026, the Sheriff’s Office attempted to apprehend Borysiewicz during a traffic stop on Ramrod Key. However, she reportedly fled the scene, striking a deputy with her vehicle before escaping on foot. The deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident. Additional warrants were issued for her arrest as a result of this pursuit.
Borysiewicz was apprehended last month by authorities in Scottsbluff County, Nebraska. Her extradition to Monroe County occurred recently, leading to her September 13 booking into the local jail. Further details on the case can be found in reports from Keys Weekly.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the full scope of the alleged criminal activity. This case highlights the persistent efforts of law enforcement in addressing drug trafficking and associated offenses within the Keys community.
